The Delta
The Delta is home to a blend of Creole/Acadian French cultures. The more rural parts are in the Delta proper, as the region is unkind to most permanent buildings.
Delta du Lambert
The point of contact that most have with the Delta, it is considered a cultural capital and one that thrives on tourism as much as their local culture.
Megafauna
Megafauna are known to enjoy the deep channels and shallow waters of the brackish estuary, which invites both salt and freshwater species to intermingle and develop into unique branch species that specialize in the strange waters. Well known are the Istrian alligators, which once were a hybridization of saltwater crocodile and freshwater alligator before developing into their own species. They can grow up to 20 feet and bee nearly 2500lbs.
Other species include the massive Deltan Catfish species, which can grow up to 500lbs and live for over 80 years. They are known to be man-eaters due to the practice of sinking corpses into the water for funerals, where they are typically eaten by the catfish.
