Library of Knowledge
The Library of Knowledge is the product of hundreds, maybe thousands, of years of carving into rock. The only part that shows externally now is the tower which juts up above the city of Abhajan, and the highest point which serves to funnel air down to the lower extremities.
Sipper's structures underground are first sandstone (research Egyptian rock) and are supported by thick columns of natural rock. Many underground chambers also have columns that stretch through the surface to funnel in more fresh air.
The library underground is labyrinthine, often described as termite-like. Quite a few chambers are used for storage and have been tested over a period of years for optimal dryness and darkness, as well as air quality. Chambers which open into natural caves are not used for book storage, but are connected via shafts to store food or make use of water instead.
