All of The Inheritors attend their first class with Thandi and call her out for colonialism, taking advantage of their situations, and not bothering to ask questions when she picked them up. Sound warning.

Characters Featured

• Cynthia
• Ilya, mentioned

Summary

The characters pair off. Yen and Sefu investigate where the ship is and the extent of the barrier. Chai and Casimir discuss the similarities and differences between Boyoma and Harkapur. Noor and Charlie chat about the pamphlet. Sefu dives into the water to check the barrier underneath; it goes as far as they could dig. Cynthia digs on the land but finds the same. She can get through the barrier, however, while no one else can.

World Notes

• The Center is covered in an anti-magic bubble.
• Harkapur is built of stone.
• The Center, being a rehabilitation facility, would have mostly medical furniture.
