The Wood
The Wood is a large forest located in East Istres, abutted on the west side by the Champagnes and on the East side by (insert water here). It is an enormous old-growth forest replete with a large variety of wildlife and vegetation, much of which remains unexplored.
While portions of the Wood are used in the logging industry, it's well-protected due to the good hunting it provides.
There are superstitions about a spirit of the Wood that will cause disaster if balance is not secured, and so most nobility will not touch it in order to not rile up the people they rule.
