The religion that dominates Istres, especially East Istres, is called the Twelve Pillars. It is made up of twelve gods who each embody traits that are valued in Istrian society.

The Pillars

Asclepius Medicine, Healing, Wellness Snake

Straea Fortune, Purity, Innocence Sheep

Beliefs

The Twelve Pillars are gods in the sense that they are aspirational figures. They were first mortal beings in this world but they created and worked to become gods, their merit so vast. In this way they are referred to instead as Pillars, as in the traits and ideals that uphold Istrian society.

Practices

Religion is not publicly observed in Istres and worship of the Pillars for most barely stems past invoking the name to encourage one's belief in their work.

An example of how one would invoke a Pillar.

However, for the more devout, there are monthly holidays to celebrate each Pillar.
