Fadil
Fadil is Sefu Mumba's husband and first mate of The Storming Fleet.
While his behavior is theatrical and dramatic, and he enjoys the finer things in life, Fadil is a force to be reckoned with. He favors fighting with a shield on one arm and a saber in the other, and his attacks with a shield can knock out a man.
Past
Fadil was contracted Labor, working his debt on the same ship as Sefu. The pair helped to instigate a mutiny. Fadil found he had a taste for luxury after their first foray robbing a merchant's ship and collects fine clothing and jewelry. He was already first mate when engaging in relations with Sefu, though no one doubted his abilities. His finest moment is throwing his shield to block a ballista shot from a navy bow, saving their quartermaster from certain death.
When Sefu asked Fadil to marry him, they struggled to find which marriage tradition they wished to go with. Fadil, sworn off his birth nation of Sippar, decided to exchange marriage necklaces with Sefu. The one he made for Sefu is made of large wooden beads and tied with thick, braided cord. It was a practical present, and in exchange, Sefu had a golden braid made with a gold-plated anchor dangling off of it.
Present
Fadil wishes to retire and start a family, as while he loves luxury, he loves Sefu more and worries that the man will die doing the one thing he loves more than Fadil.
