"Chai, it's not the god's sleeping body powering everything." Minato begs. He just wants him to see. They are standing at the door in the building... a door, not THE door. It's carved out of the wall, supposed to be camouflaged, and as Chai continues to deny the possibility, he hears his name.
Tomo had been waiting for him. "Chai."
"Tomo?"
"You need to see it, Chai."
"We're not permitted to be there."
"I know, but that doesn't matter."
Chai continues to deny, deny, deny Minato's begging, but once Tomo affirms Minato's words, Sakchai slowly begins to try to reason his way through it. Is Tomo being held hostage? If he plays along, will he be able to save her?
Tomo and Sakchai hold hands as they enter and at first, it's dark.
Chai's eyes adjust.
It's what he saw in his dream: a machine pumping into the earth, pulling up oil. Smoke pours from a smokestack, the very same smoke he had thought of as Hisaki's breath. Tomo grows teary. Sakchai tries to approach, and his handwraps... illuminate.
Tomo warns him off. "Chai, don't get too close. They're watching it."
"Who?"
"The monks."
Indeed, as Chai looks around, he sees that there are security cameras pointed at the oil rig. He grows more angry. "I don't understand. This is supposed to be Hisaki. What's going on?" His emotions are growing more difficult to contain. He's filled with doubt. Anger. 'Wrath'.
The lights grow brighter.
Tomo has to let go of Sakchai's hands because his gauntlets grow large, surprising her. The lights flicker and they begin to pop.
"This has to be a joke. A bad joke. My whole life is a lie. It's not possible!"
Then... Thandi shows up. She apologizes and takes him away.

Chai rises this morning, doing his usual exercises— tai chi— and attends an uneventful breakfast. He is summoned at noon to see the head monk, his father figure, Ajarn Narong. Outside the door is Chai's childhood friend Ari, and they both proceed inside.

The meeting is formal. No tea is served. They sit on the colorful cushions upon the floor as Narong tells them both that they are to go on a mission to spread Hisaki's sacred word to the village according to the eons-long tradition held by the monastery. Sakchai asks how long they will be there: about two months. In fact, Tomo has been there for a shade over two months.

Sakchair wrestles with his own nervousness, as he has never left the monastery and except for missions and sacred duties, once they leave the monastery, they are out. But he has a duty to teach the sacred word of Hisaki.

Still, Chai is excited as they step onto the shuttle. The doors open automatically and a ramp descends, allowing them to get on. It's auto-piloted and Chai gazes outside, asking Ari about their surroundings. He even sees a new dog!
