Prior to Abduction

During their adulthood, Casimir sailed the seas as an operative for Ascendance. Their last boat they sailed on was The Good Intention.

Before they were abducted, Casimir was assigned to work on a small island between Istres and Boyoma. The spot was famous for dubious traders, pirates, and insurgents like themself. They worked in a tavern on the island in exchange for room and board.

The Spectacular Six

Charlie

Casimir sees Charlie as always on edge, ready to go off at any moment, but based on private experiences with him, they learned he's more insecure than anything. They're still uneasy around him because of where he came from, but thinks that they share a dislike for his family. They think there's potential to be good friends there.

Elia

They see Elia as sweet and initially found her a little grating because of that. But recently, she's come into her own and now they find her actually pretty feisty. They've been feeling proud of her lately and think the two of them could get closer as time goes on

Nasima

Nasima is a complete mystery to Casimir, and they're not sure how to feel about them. It seems that they would be great friends considering that they have actually a lot in common, but there's a barrier there. That said, they have a lot of respect for them.

Nora

Casimir expected to dislike Nora based on her family but they have a hard time holding her station against her. They see her like a powder keg, and feel like they relate to her more than the others both culturally and how they both seem to carry a lot of familial weight. And it makes Casimir feel weird to relate to her like that.

Sak-chai

They see Sak-chai as the baby of the group, and just want to protect him. He's still learning a lot, and Casimir finds that they don't mind teaching him when they can. They think he's cute, but do find themself wondering what's hiding under that cuteness. They've been thinking of him like a baby brother.

At first Casimir thought Thandi was a ditz but now see her just like the rest of the group, put into service without all the information she needs to do her job well. Now, they feel like any time she's getting irritating, they need to remember it's not her fault. They think she's sweet, but every now and then they can tell there's a fire underneath. She's really growing on them. She still feels separate from the rest of the group, distant, and they wish they knew how to make her feel more like a friend.

Ayanda

As much as they've tried to bury their feelings for Ayanda with sex and alcohol, they always come back. They've never stopped loving her, and will never stop wishing to see her again. She's the ghost that haunts them. Her presence in their heart has alerted the path they were on, and they're fine with that. They try to remember, when they're feeling really down, that the universe is full of invisible connections, and somehow there might still be a connection between them. Wherever she is, they hope she's happy.

Relatives

Casimir has always had a somewhat conflicted relationship with their parents. They love their parents and have always felt loved and supported, but at the same time, born into the life they were born into, they've also always felt an intense amount of pressure to do and be who they are told they are supposed to be. Their parents make them feel free to explore their gender and sexuality but leave little room for exploration about the path of their life. Yumiko, Casimir's mom, has always been the more rigid of the two and imposed the idea that learning how the upper class live is important to Casimir's job, so even though it caused contention, Casimir learned ceremony and ritual. From Liron, their dad, was the impression that they had to find joy in life, so Casimir has a softer, more open relationship with their dad, but Dad is often gone, leaving a bit of a gulf in their relationship. Casimir feels closer to their mom because of that. All in all, they all love each other, but there's some strain there.

Mother, Yumiko Hara

Yumiko was raised in a lower nobility family in Hokuto. Her father was a samurai, and her mother kept house, making sure her daughter learned everything there was to learn about hosting, being a good wife, and all the right ceremonies for someone of her station. From her father, she was trained in the use of the sword so that she could be well-rounded and capable of taking care of herself, in her father's words. Yumiko always hated that stuffy life, and when she met Liron during a traveling show, he won her over immediately with his charm and big ideas about how the world should work. She took her sword and ran away with Liron, joining him in the life and organization he was a part of, one that promised to make the world better. About a year into their romance, Yumiko fell pregnant with Casimir. Yumiko never regretted leaving her life. She is a strong woman, physically and mentally, meticulous in her dealings, and often more sarcastic than she should be, which is where Casimir gets it from. Her favorite things are strong black tea, walking barefoot in the morning dew, exercise, and a good book.

Father, Liron Bellamy

Liron was raised in Southern Boyoma in a nomadic group. His culture is known for their music, dance, and jewelry, all of which Liron fully participated in growing up. He learned traditional dances, how to play multiple instruments, and enjoys bright colors and sparkle. When Liron was a young teen they embraced their identity as a bisexual nonbinary person and stared experimenting with romance, sexuality, and their expression. Around 15, Liron joined a traveling group of dancers and started traveling from city to city, putting on shows and having fun. But all that travel also opened up the issues of the wider world to Liron, and they really absorbed all the injustices around him and formed ideas about how the world could be better. At some point during that year, he was brought into Ascendence and trained and started working as a spy. Doing this job in the courts of Hokuto is how he met Yumiko. She joined him, and they started a romance culminating in her becoming pregnant a year later. Liron is charismatic, a bit of a worrier, and flirtatious. Some of his favorite things are music, coffee, dance, cooking, and a good sewing project.
