Where the Inheritors went after stealing the ship and their first contact with the Guardian's legacy.

Consists of 5 levels with a teleportation pad in the atrium of each.

Level 1
The halls all contain murals of the Guardians (depicted as humanoids with stars on their bodies), the people of Alleria (humanoids on the earth or flying in shuttles/crafts), and Monyama, the water dragon (depicted as themselves). Chai will recognize the style of these murals and the technology depicted.

Gym - Includes a walking/running track, balls, weights and barbells, etc. as well as a gymnastics area.

Bedrooms -

Baths - Standard communal bathroom with showers, a sauna, toilets, etc.

Administration -

Offices - An open concept office where the walls were once glass to see outside. The light only barely peeks through now due to the overgrowth.

Manager - The office of the manager of Guardian Outpost 01. Here, Casimir had a vision of what happened at the outpost ages ago.

Loading Dock, Air - This is a wide open space. There is a large button that can says OPEN/CLOSE to open or close the loading dock doors. This is only operational when the power is on.

Dining - A large dining space where the walls are giant reinforced windows. The light barely peeks through the overgrowth now. There is a large mural along the inner wall that depicts a feast with all the dragon gods, the Guardians, and the people of Alleria. Beneath the mural is the access window for the kitchen where workers can transport food to the buffet tables. All the food here has long gone bad and disintegrated.

Kitchens - A large industrial kitchen.

Storage - A large storage room specifically for food.

Ground Level
The halls all contain murals of the Guardians (depicted as humanoids with stars on their bodies), the people of Alleria (humanoids on the earth or flying in shuttles/crafts), and Monyama, the water dragon (depicted as themselves).

The central hall shows the sign of the Guardian on the floor and above is a mosaic of a massive dragon circling the ceiling and filled with stars. The stars trickle down and become Guardians that watch over the earth and the people in it. With them are six dragons scattered throughout the mural.

Recreation - This room was once a large indoor park that mimicked the outside world but has now evolved into a unique forest of its own. The plants in here have evolved entirely separate from the world of Alleria. There are insects in here that have also evolved separately from the outside world.

Offices - These offices have a view of the forest on the other side of the wall but are otherwise empty. The struggle was intense here and it appears to be where several people hid when the attack happened.

Conference Room - A conference room where meetings were once held.

Warehouse - A massive warehouse where supplies were kept. It has been ransacked and a large amount of the crates have been destroyed.

Infirmary - Filled with medical devices, equipment, and beds for the sick. This is where the Guardians would heal the humans of Alleria should anything hurt or weaken them. They even did some small studies here.

Reception - A reception area where the Guardian on duty would greet humans, direct other Guardians, and provide refreshments. There are some toys for children as well.

Loading Dock - This is a wide open space. There is a large button that can says OPEN/CLOSE to open or close the loading dock doors. This is only operational when the power is on.

Storage - This is where office supplies and other sorts of supplies are kept to help maintain the outpost.

Archives - This is where the archives are kept. Most are servers. However, there are also books and files kept here that are locked behind air-tight cases. To access these, the team will need the Head Archivist's key card.

Library - A library filled with books that have disintegrated due to the elements. Here, Casimir found an Allerium medallion and experienced a vision of the Head Archivist when they were dying. The medallion cracked.

Lecture - A lecture hall that is now empty. The seats and desks are perfectly arranged and untouched.
Laboratory - Agrophysics - The goal of the Agrophysics lab was to find methods of agriculture that would have as little impact on the ecosystem as possible. They were studying various materials such as a substance dubbed Allerium.

Agrophysics lab - study of the agroecosystem (biological objects, biotope (habitat), and biocoenosis (organisms in the biotope) affected by human activity), studied and described using the methods of physical sciences.

Solves problems in agriculture via studying the materials and processes occurring in the production and processing of agricultural crops, with particular emphasis on the condition of the environment and the quality of farming materials and food production.

Allerium is a rare element only found in the deepest reaches of Alleria. The prison cells of Ascendance's Boyoman headquarters are made of this as well as the Elite Operative weapons.

It is a strange substance that has solid, liquid, gaseous, and plasma state that can be harnessed to accomplish different goals. It is highly conductive of magic and it appears that the Agrophysics lab was testing the ability of Allerium to conduct natural magic back into the earth while planting seeds.

Laboratory - Mycology - The goal of the mycology lab was to impede the spread of a harmful fungus that was poisoning the water and making humans, plants, and insects sick. It appears they had resolved the issue and were looking for their next project. They kept some samples of the mushrooms in a container of Allerium gas. Here, the team found Thandi in a trance the morning after they explored the Outpost. She successfully transferred the Allerium gas out of the canister into its own canister.
Istres is the northern-most continent of Alleria. It has strong trade agreements with both Boyoma and Hokuto. However, it is in competition with Sippar when it comes to luxury goods, specifically textiles.

Earth is related to the land of Istres, the northernmost continent of Alleria. With coniferous forests as far as the eye can see, the people of Istres stand as tall and proud. East Istres is like western European: France, Germany, Spain, and England. West Istres, though, is more like China, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. The climate is mostly cold with some temperate areas throughout.
From left to right, the territories were Taihu in the south, Conglin in the central are of west Istres, and Khushuut in the north. = Geography =
Government and politics
Istres was initially a poorer nation due to the soil being less arable than other countries. On the western side the poor soil was made up for by trade with Hokuto or following nomadic ancestral routes that took advantage of seasonal forage and a moving animal population. On the eastern side, the moors are poor for farming on a mass scale and it relies on small farming communities to keep up with the demand. East Istres is filled with noble land claims that tend to sit near the coast. As each land claim gets closer to the moors, the larger it gets; alongside the peerage rank.

A baron may come to be in possession of a village, while ducal holding may lay claim to several towns, cities, and stretches of land that can take days to move through. Each hierarchal step may claim jurisdiction over a lower peer's land as well; for example, a Duke may levy taxes upon a Count, however that Count would have the right to request assistance should they need it. Typically this right is not exercised, and instead contracts are used to work between each land claim.

Conversely, however, the royal capital of Prospera maintains a small land claim but collects taxes from all peerage in order to sustain itself. The taxes are routinely used to do large contracts with other nations, import food and Labor, and to upkeep a certain level of comfort for the royal family.
Boyoma is the southern-most continent in the realm of Alleria.

Water is associated with the land of Boyoma: the continent to the far east of Alleria. With vast plains and sprawling jungles, this land has the most to offer in natural resources. In relation to our world, imagine Central Africa: the Congo Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Kenya. The climate can vary drastically and can be as unpredictable as the sea.
The ancient territories of Boyoma, Pre-covenant.

Geography
Boyoma has an enormous amount of variance in biomes, the most extreme of which is cut off in the southern reaches by inhospitable mountain ranges. There is a longstanding belief that the mountains are filled with snow spirits who are possessive of their domain; it is not uncommon for Boyomans who are entreupenerial to attempt to begin operations in the mountains only for mysterious circumstances to strike and curse the party.*

* Some of which are Outsiders... others, who knows what happened?

The most famous expedition is the Lost Party of 1643. A large party, blessed by their regional lord and well-funded, well-supplied, knowing full well the expectations and past losses disappeared during a bad storm that prevented communication with the team for two months. A party was sent to check up on the original party, only to find that all humans are gone, leaving behind all their equipment.

Theories state that they may have gone into the tunnel to keep warm, but no bodies were found in the collapsed mineshaft. The homing pigeons they used to deliver messages were still alive and well in the tents despite the frigid temperatures.

Northern Boyoma is in a greenery-dense region that halts at the river.

Government and politics
The Council of Crowns
* Mwene Ebale (Monarch River) - The high ruler of Boyoma is elected by the Bakambi ya Awene.
** Bapesi-toli (Advisors) are advisors selected by Mwene Ebale.
*** Mwene Fololo (Flower) - The keeper of the palace, this advisor manages the palace and its grounds. They plan events for local, national, and international guests. They also assist in helping the Mwene Ebale find a spouse if they do not have one upon entering office.
*** Mwene Nzete (Tree) - The right hand of the Mwene Ebale, this advisor provides council to Mwene Ebale on matters of politics be it national or international. They are the go to for the Bakambi ya Awene.
*** Mwene Libanga (Stone) - The highest level of the courts, this position assists with legal matters and rules on cases that cannot be settled in lower courts. They are more often than not, focused on contract law and land ownership.
*** Mwene Maïs (Maize) - The treasurer of the accounts (not including the palace). This position manages the government (similar to a comptroller). They manage the budget as well as deal with discrepancies. They work closely with Mwene Lolemo who oversees trades.
*** Mwene Mopanga (Sword) - The head of law enforcement (previously the military). This position manages the defense forces, the seekers of escaped contractors, as well as investigators of forgeries.

* Bakambi ya Awene (Council of Monarchs) are monarchs elected by the people of their respective lands.
** Mwene Boyoma - The ruler of the Boyoma territory And leader of the Bakambi ya Awene. This is classically the most influential member due to Boyoma's history and wealth.
** Mwene Abira - The ruler of the Abira territory. This ruler is usually considered an emissary of Istres as they are in close proximity to the nation.
** Mwene Nduye - The ruler of the Nduye territory. This ruler is often Mwene Boyoma's greatest ally or fiercest enemy, depending on who is elected. The friendship/feud between these territories goes back thousands of years.
** Mwene Mazombe - The ruler of the Mazombe territory. This ruler is considered the chief of beasts as the Mazombe people are ranchers.
** Mwene Besako - The ruler of the Besako territory. This ruler is often considered an outsider due to the territory being separate from the mainland.
** Mwene Kamango - The ruler of the Kamango territory. This ruler is usually considered an emissary of Sippar as they are in close proximity to the nation.

* Others
** Mwene Makanisi (Mind) Parent of Mwene Ebale - This position is appointed to a single parent of Mwene Ebale's choosing. Typically, this position is filled to balance out the council. For instance, if the Mwene has a predominantly aggressive or brash council, they should select the more level-headed parent to balance them.
** Mwene Motema (Heart) Spouse of Mwene Ebale - This position is appointed to a spouse (or spouses) of the Mwene Ebale. Typically, it is only accepted by a single spouse but a few Mwene Ebale had more than one spouse that filled the roles in different ways.
** Mwene Lolemo (Tongue) - This role is not an elected role and is not appointed by the council or Mwene Ebale. Instead, this role is filled by the head of the merchant's guild. This person brings their experience in trade to the council and provides an outside perspective on decisions related to economy, budget, and trade. They may also have advice in the ways trades would affect politics.
** Mwene Elimo (Spirit) - This role is not an elected role and is not appointed by the council or Mwene Ebale. Instead, this role is filled by the Religion Name High Priest. This person is meant to bring wisdom and possibly provide foresight. This position varies greatly depending on 1, the current leaning of the religious leader, and 2, the Mwene Ebale's faith in the religion. If nothing else, they usually can agree on the sway religion has over the people.

Economy
Gold
Gold is a readily available metal in Boyoma, making them responsible for providing the gold necessary to mint gold pieces throughout Alleria.

Culture
Cattle
Central Boyoma is dedicated to cattle rearing— the cattle herding lifestyle is strictly nomadic, following the seasons. It's become a rich cultural practice with it's own dialect. Yes. They are cowboys and super cool.

The cattle they herd is a long-time domesticated species of water buffalo of enormous size. They have been bred for muscle mass but also dependence on their caretakers: they roam freely but rely directly on their herders to keep an eye out for predators. Dogs and horses are often employed as working animals in this regard in order to (1) discourage large predators and (2) keep up with the herd.

It is not uncommon for cowboys to travel in family groups and get together sporadically for shits and giggles.

Fashion
Gold trim is a top-tier fashion choice in Boyoma. Those who can't afford it make use of gold-colored thread, dyed with local plants. Those who can will thread real gold into their clothing. The practice was assumed after a regional queen donned ritual wear to welcome a foreign envoy, and from there the look took off.

Religion
For laborers/free workers: The day begins early in the morning, prior to sunrise. In cities, they are woken by the clock towers. Workers must rise early and have a simple but filling meal (usually made from cassava or plantains), then leave the indoors at the first sign of sunrise. They go about their work be it mining, farming, herding, or more urban tasks (cleaning, gardening, etc.). Work continues until the heat/humidity is too intense to continue. This is typically from 1 - 3 each day. During this time, there are usually religious services or community gatherings indoors. Lunch is usually a community affair, either provided by the religious institutions or the organizers of the community gatherings. The midday break is also a good time to work on indoor chores such as mending, cleaning, tidying, anything that might not be done if all household partners are outdoor laborers. When the sun has moved from the center of the sky and it is safe to work again, the laborers return to their work outdoors and work until sundown. When the sun sets, the laborers can attend another religious service, return home, or visit the markets. The night is typically filled with music and revelry to get people's spirits up after a long day of work. Laborers that attend religious services are able to wash up prior to the service as simple worship clothes are provided. They are given a hearty meal and a chance to connect with the community.

Religious services do not happen every day but the laborers may go to the temple to wash up and pray/worship on their own. Laborers that return home wash up and make their own dinners to feed either just their families or to share with the small farming staff they are a part of. In those instances, everyone brings something to eat and they share. There is always music or a storyteller that includes music in their story as music is sacred in Boyoman culture. It's a long-standing belief that music must be incorporated into daily life in one way or another to live a good life. Laborers that go into town to go to the market usually eat food that is made in the market (street food such as meat on a stick, cassava fritters, and steamed cassava rolls). There's always some sort of performance going on to ensure everyone experiences music in one way or another.

Artisans: For artisans, the day is fairly similar but not nearly as strict depending on their profession. Smiths, for instance, work the same (or similar) hours as laborers, but jewelers do not. Instead, jewelers typically wake after sunrise and get into their shops later in the day. Higher class artisans won't open their shops until about 10. Once a week, the shop will take a break midday to attend religious services but otherwise will remain open until a little after the laborers return to work. Shops will stay open until evening religious services begin. Some shops will reopen for the evening market but higher class shops will close as their usual clientele have returned to their homes. Lower end shops will stay open specifically for laborers and the middle class to visit.

Religious leaders/temple workers: The most common religion in Boyoma is (Karen is bad at naming things) which is the common name for an amalgamation of tribal beliefs. Each tribe worships differently but the basic rituals are the same. These often bleed into regular daily practices and even non-religious individuals may engage in some form of these practices:

1) Each day is greeted with a full body cleanse in either the rain or a nearby creek. Washing is communal and accompanied by singing the praises of the river and the rain. The upper classes have special bathrooms that are shared amongst the family and the richest will hire musicians to play while they cleanse. Bath huts are more common for the middle class and lower class that do not live near a creek.

2) Each meal begins with a prayer of thanks: "River, we thank you for feeding our crops. Land, we thank you for your bounty and for feeding our beasts. Beasts, we thank you for your spirit to nourish us. Chef, we thank you for your heart to prepare this meal." Or in most households, "Thank you River." "Natondi yo ebale."

3) When approaching a body of water, it is customary to keep your eyes low so as to respect the might of the water but also to check that the water is not rising or falling to quickly. The water is seen as powerful yet capricious. A quiet offering can be made by simply saying, "My life is yours to take, but be it not today." This has evolved into a simple plea of, "Not today, (body of water's name)." Some people will bring a morsel of food from their first meal to work as an offering to the river. Manufactured items such as jewelry, coins, or books are not welcome by the river and to offer such things is considered a slight.

4) At midday, there is a gathering of religious leaders, temple workers, and anyone that wishes to attend (laborers, typically) to participate in a daily ritual of thanksgiving and blessing. Attendees must wash and change into worship clothes prior to entering the space of worship. The religious leaders will pray to the spirits that inherit all things, thanking them for what they provide, they will then bless whatever the villagers bring, be it a new tool, a new child, or just the villager themself. While the blessings are ongoing, music plays and food is served. The food is prepared by those that do not work the fields (typically the partners of the workers who are not strong enough).

5) In the evenings, there is another gathering, this time featuring storytelling or a sermon on the beliefs of the leader. These sermons vary greatly depending on the region as there are some that preach obedience and pacifism while others are more rebellious and even violent. The speakers preach on matters that inspire them and give the same sermon each night for a week to ensure everyone has heard the message. After the sermon, food is provided again and there is music and dancing.

6) When the waters begin to retreat due to the change from wet to dry, the community gathers for a festival to bid the river farewell as it leaves to nourish the rest of the world. This festival precedes a solid month of infrastructure reinforcement. It's also usually considered a homecoming time as the communities need all hands on deck to prepare for the oncoming monsoons and upkeep any structures that may have been damaged during the wet season.

7) The dry season ends with the first monsoon and the people of Boyoma gather together in their religious or community gathering centers to keep each other safe. There is always a feast, music, dancing, and a prayer for safety. Those that observe view the monsoon as the great return of the river and set aside a space specifically for the spirit of the river. They will fill this space with prepared food and alcohol to celebrate. Everyone sings the praises of the sea and the sky for bringing the river back. Once the storm passes, the offerings to the river are tossed into it.

Dragons (Lwa)
In Boyoma, dragons are called "Lwa" or "Serpents.” They look like rivers, long and sleek with smooth scales and fin-like spines. They have no wings but are seen as flying in various paintings and tapestries.

The Rules of Magic was a lesson plan created by Thandi Kahsu intended to teach The Inheritors magic in Session 2. Due to the group's distrust of her and Valeria combined with the anxiety over their loved ones, the lesson was cancelled and instead, Thandi provided the following information in pamphlet form.

Introduction
Magic is the connecting force that ties together all things. Whether it be alive or dead, incorporeal or physical, abstract or concrete, good or evil, all things carry in them a vein of magic that is connected to the cosmic body that is the universe. Different scholars call this different things. We've heard of the Great Tree theory, the Weave, and as I've said, the Cosmic Body. The common theme in all of these as you'll see is various strings, veins, or roots that connect all things and make them one. That is magic. It is the veins and the space between them as well as the whole thing itself. Wherever you find existence, you find magic.

Magic is complex but we've found ways to break it down into its basest forms as well as separate it out for the ease of learning its many facets. For example, you'll see I've drawn this diagram including the following.

We have four pieces of the whole. These are the traditions of magic: Primal, Divine, Occult, and Arcane. Then we have the essences: Matter, Spirit, Mind, and Life. We'll focus on these eight pieces today.

The first piece, Traditions, are how magic is learned and practiced depending on where you are from. For example, worlds that are only slightly developed in terms of society, the magic used is 39% likely to be Primal as this tradition is the most in tune with nature. Similarly, there is a 24% chance that their magic is Occult and a 25% chance that their magic is Divine. Arcane is a more developed method of studying magic and is found in societies that are devoted to the actual study of magic itself.

Traditions
Primal
This tradition focuses on the natural connection between all things. Practitioners of primal magic are often devoted to the protection of the nature in their own worlds. Depending on your home planet, primal magic will manifest differently. For example, Welunians are from a water planet so they would practice primal magic differently from Karturians on a volcanic planet. This tradition is highly volatile as it is tied with feelings and the physical world around it.

Divine
The divine tradition is for those that follow the path of prayer and spiritual devotion. For those worlds where gods exist, they grant magical capabilities to their followers who in turn perform feats or spread their god's message. This tradition is rigid and dependent on the magic that the god can provide. For example, if a follower of a god of hunting begged their god to help them learn a new craft, that god would have no power to help the follower.

Occult
While you might assume occultism is bound to dark chanting and the summoning of monsters, the occult tradition is arguably more advanced than the divine tradition. The occult is not so focused on the power of gods or demons or devils but rather the power of heritage, myth, and community. The Occult tradition is focused on the power within us as people and the ways in which we are connected with each other. For example, when a bard performs a piece of music that fills you with confidence, that is considered an occult magic.

Arcane
Lastly, the arcane tradition is the most developed and intellectual manner of practicing magic. The arcane tradition is taught first in schools and eventually universities that focus on what we're doing here today. Arcane studies focus on defining magic as it exists in our universe, cataloguing it, and eventually mastering it. Wizards and other practitioners create the spell in our minds, use a component such as a word, a wave of a wand, a diamond, focus or in some cases, all of the above. Finally, they determine the last pieces of the spell by defining the target, range, and area of the spell. After years of practice, all of this happens within mere seconds.

Essences
Magic is composed of four distinct essences: Matter, Mind, Spirit, and Life.

Matter
Matter can be considered what we see, hear, and feel such as the elements: earth, fire, water, and wind. But it is also changes in these properties such as heat and cold, growing and shrinking, etc.

* What is an example of a thing that is strictly matter? It does not contain life, mind, or spirit. A rock, a drop of water, a breeze.
* What is an example of a thing that lacks matter? A ghost, a specter, an incorporeal being

Spirit
Spirit is the opposite of matter but a key component in the makeup of living things. Spirit is metaphysical change. It is the soul of any living thing that contains it. It is connected to good and evil, law and chaos, and carries pieces of transcendent emotions that can elevate or drag us down. Spirit is much like: motivation, hope, despair, love, inspiration! It's the ability for a being to change who they are.

* What is an example of a thing that is strictly spirit? It does not contain matter, life, or mind. The best example would be a creature made specifically and only to bring about change. As far as we know, there are no creatures like this but it's a fun thought experiment!
* What is an example of a thing that lacks spirit? Scholars debate that angels and demons are this way but it's been proven time and again that angels and demons have the ability to change. It's difficult to say any one thing is soulless but I'd argue that Thusians are a good example of a being that lacks spirit. Thusians are plant-based lifeforms that can think and have instincts but they don't dream, grow, or change aside from physical aging.

Mind
Keep in mind: the brain is not what we mean when we say Mind. Brains are Matter but they do contain chemicals that are associated with Mind, Spirit, and Life. When we say Mind, we're talking about the energy of knowledge, facts, and your rational mind, including language processing, learning facts, and conscious decision-making. But it (with the help of Spirit) also includes intellectual creativity and dreams. Emotions can be found here, too, but emotion is broad and can be composed of multiple essences.

* What is an example of a thing that is strictly mind? It has no body, no instincts, and no capacity to change. I'd argue that a database is a good example of this, though, it's difficult when the database is linked to a physical source like a computer or a network. That said, it's the closest thing I can come to.
* What is an example of a thing that lacks mind? Animals are good examples, though, not all animals fit into this category.

Life
Life, though I think it should be called Vitality, is the essence presiding over positive energy such as creation and life, and the negative energy such as destruction and death. This does not mean good or evil. This is the positive and negative of the universe. Life is the opposite of Mind because it represents irrational thought and instinct. Life is tied heavily to emotions but ones that we can't explain. It's the fear of the dark or the unshakeable faith in your cause or your god.

* What is an example of a thing that is strictly Life? It has no mind, no body, and no capacity to change. The nature vitae (or spirits) that inhabit Leshies are a good example. They're incorporeal creatures that inhabit physical forms to gain matter, spirit, and mind.
* What is an example of a thing that lacks life? Androids are a good example, they have bodies, minds, and souls but they have no instincts or vitality.

Yen Vo is the inheritor of the element of Fire in the game World of Adaptation.
History
Childhood
Yen was born in Da Rua, Hokuto on the island of Taroko, April 26, 1749. She was raised by her parents and siblings in a nurturing home. She spent a lot of time in the wilds but also enjoyed reading to learn new skills. She enjoyed archery and bushcraft above all other skills but had a disdain for numbers and making them work beyond a rudimentary level. Friendship came easy to Yen and she made plenty of friends.
Teens
While she was a good kid, she did have a mischievous side. She played pranks and even learned how to ferment berries a bit too early. As she grew up, she formed romantic feelings for several different people. One day while she and a group of friends were together, one of her friends dared her to kiss one of the other girls. Not one to turn down a dare, and eager as she had a crush on the girl, Yen kissed her and the two of them went on to date for a year. Her first love, however, was an older boy in the village but it was short-lived.

Her life changed when at 17, she met Tiên La in the market and fell for her straightaway. The two began dating but things sped up when Yen's father revealed that he was arranging a marriage for her.

Magical
x
Abilities
Weaponry
Yen has been proficient with a crossbow since she was a child. Her father taught her and her career relied heavily on her ability to wield various types of crossbows. Yen is also proficient with daggers, using them when in melee range or throwing if necessary. However, she prefers to use them for survival, skinning, meat preparation, or carving bones.
Wife, Tiên La (deceased)
Tièn was Yen's first life partner and wife. They first met in the market by literally bumping into each other in the market and Yen fell in love at first sight. When Yen came to her distressed at an arranged marriage, they ran away together to Taroko.

Husband, Lam Dao (deceased)
Lam was Yen's second life partner and husband. He joined with Yen and Tièn not long after they arrived in Taroko.
Yen Vo is the inheritor of the element of Fire in the game World of Adaptation. She is played by Cody.
History

History
